PlaySport London: Free Sport 2010 - Round 1
Play Sport London: Free Sport aims to get people of all ages and abilities participating in activities by providing free access to sport. Clubs and organisations have the opportunity to apply for funding of up to £1500 to deliver coaching sessions, festivals and open days to encourage more people to take part in sport. A key aim of the of the programme is to provide quality coaching and long term participation opportunities as a legacy from the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. To apply for a Play Sport London grant, visit www.playsportlondonapplications.co.uk. Deadline for Round 1 applications is 7th May 2010.
Official Sports London â Year 2
Over 50 West London sports officials received bursaries towards gaining officiating awards as part of this programme during its pilot year. The programme has now been re-launched and includes 5 new sports. The scheme is open to anyone over 16 living in London. Official Sports London is still open for applications. The next deadline for applications is Monday 17th May 2010 so make sure you register your interest and return your application form as soon as possible, as applications will be assessed on a first come first served basis. Successful applicants to Official Sports London will have to have completed their course by 30th June 2010. For more information visit www.officialsports.org
Creative Apprenticeships
Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) has pledged funding for up to 50 Apprenticeships in museums across England over the next two years. Designed to open up entry routes into museums, the new funding will provide £5,000 for each year of the Apprenticeâs employment. The third round of applications is open and venues are encouraged to apply. Key dates: Deadline for applications 5pm, Fri 14 May 2010. Museums expected to recruit their Apprentices by the end of August 2010. Download the application form, criteria for applications and colleges list. To date, 4346 (up from 3069 in 2009) West London businesses have registered on the system with 26 contracts awarded in the sub region, a rise of 90% on 2009 figures. Countdown to the 2012 Games Business Event
