News Update: Fire at Wood Lane

A large fire at a building in Shepherds Bush is causing considerable traffic congestion and travel disruption today as firefighters race to bring the blaze under control

A Transport for London spokesman said: "Due to a building fire in the Wood Lane area, the A40 is currently closed in both directions between Savoy Circus and Marylebone Road, and the A3220 West Cross Route is closed both ways between the Holland Park Roundabout and the A40 Northern Roundabout.

It is not yet known how the fire started and so far no one has been reported as hurt but we anticipate it will have a serious impact on the travel network.

Our Hammersmith CCTV operator is monitoring the scene and will keep us posted if there is further news but currently drivers are advised to seek alternative routes and expect long delays."
