News Update: A4 Hammersmith flyover closed pending further investigations.

Transport for London released the following summary statement today concerning the ongoing maintenance works on the Hammersmith flyover:
The decision has been taken to keep the flyover closed for at least another week until investigations are complete.
TfL is working day and night to re-open the flyover to traffic as soon as it is safe to do so
The flyover will be repaired and fully available to traffic before the London 2012 Games
Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the area and take alternative routes
We have put in a number of measures to manage traffic flow and communicate with motorists, businesses and residents
