Mary Portas -
The Mary Portas taster workshop took place on Tuesday 20 September 2011 and was deemed a huge success by all the who attended.
It was very interactive and engaging and allowed the local business owners and managers to gain insight into establishing new techniques and ways to optimise their business growth and potential by defining their key areas of their business first.
The workshops were delivered as part of a new government initiative whereby councils would target independent, local retailers who want to raise their game in challenging trading conditions. Individuals would later sign onto several themed masterclasses which would focus on a specific topic affecting their business.
The masterclasses are being run through the Work Zone, the councils unique National Retail Skills Academy and recruitment and training service based at Shepherds Bush Library next to Westfield London in Wood Lane. The WorkZone has held highest Mary Portas training course take up in London out of 7 retail skills shops.
