Maggie's Night Hike 2011
We were delighted to support Maggie's Night Hike again , the annual 20-mile walk which offers hikers exclusive access to some of London's most iconic buildings to raise money for Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres.
Maggie's would like to extend a huge WELL DONE and THANK YOU to all our London Night Hikers. It was deemed a fantastic night and an incredible achievement by all who attended and took part.
Setting off from the stunning Guildhall in the heart of the city, hikers completed a loop around late-night London, starting with Channel 4 in Westminster, then on to the Argentine Ambassador's Residence and the Royal Geographical Society. After visiting the award winning Maggie's London Centre hikers enjoyed a moments rest on our 'I Love Hammersmith' deckchairs before heading north, back into central London, to take in the Royal Society of Medicine, Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and Horse Guards.
The hike was put on this year to help the Maggie's charity achieve their goal of smashing their fundraising commitment of £200 or £300 so thay they can support even more people to build a life beyond cancer; people like Bruce:
Bruce comments: "Maggie's has been a life saver for me. The centre allows people to talk openly in a welcoming and safe environment."
