The Mayor for Hammersmith and Fulham, Councillor Adronie Alford has chosen the RNLI- Royal National Lifeboat Institution- as her chosen charity for 2010-2011. The RNLI is a charity that saves lives at sea, providing a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the coasts of the UK and RoI, as well as a seasonal lifeguard service on many of the busiest beaches in England and Wales. The RNLI also works to promote sea and beach safety and is funded entirely by charity donations. Earlier this month, HammersmithLondon supported a charity collection held on Lyric Square for RNLI attended by the Mayor. Over £2000 was raised for RNLI on the day, a fantastic achievement for all those involved. Visit www.rnli.org.uk for more information on the good work the charity does.
