HammersmithLondon Pavement Protection Program
HammersmithLondon Business Improvement District have just completed the application of a new advanced cleaning product to repel stains, stop chewing gum sticking to the pavement and keep the area clean.
As King Street is an area of high footfall, the paving often looks dull and suffers from chewing gum sticking and becoming trodden into it.
With the application of this new product, chewing gum will not adhere to the surface and can easily be flicked off with a standard pavement washing.
As well as that, stains such as oil, drinks and other surface contaminants cannot sink into the stone and will just float on the surface ready to be washed off, leaving a cleaner and brighter pavement behind.
The trial area outside Marks and Spencer has been deep cleaned and restored to its pristine state, with the application it should stay at that level of cleanliness and gum resistance for up to five years.
We invite you to have a look and tell us what you think as we are hoping to roll this out across the BID area and would really benefit from your feedback.

'I noticed how clean and new the pavement outside M&S looked on Wednesday before I read about this treatment. It looks marvellous. I hope it works long term. I am worried about chewing gum - if it does not stick to the pavement it will stick on people's shoes. I think you need to do more to enforce the law against all kinds of litter louts.'
