Free Saturday Walking Tours of Hammersmith for all Privilege Card Holders! 2011/2012

On the First Saturday of every month, why not get to know more about where you live? Escape your routine, get some fresh air and discover Hammersmithâs hidden gems by joining in our FREE GUIDED WALKS of Hammersmith!
The walks are lead by Blue Badge tourist guides and are designed to last for one hour so you can easily fit them into your other weekend plans.

11:00am - 12:00 pm
The walks must leave on time. Please be punctual!
Teas and Coffee will be provided afterwards at different venues.

A bridge not too far. Come and pay homage to Hammersmith's greatest icon - our wonderful iron bridge, blown up by the IRA in 1939 in an event some historians describe as the first hostile act of WWII. Let's hear it for the original Guy Fawkes, a Yorkshire man who fancied himself as 'Guido' Fawkes. We circle the site of tonight's great Borough conflagration - the Ravenscourt Firework Display. Let's also hear it for that age-old symbol of England's liberty - the bonfire. Meet outside Ravenscourt Park tube at 11am.

11am Hammersmith Broadway tube to River & Kelmscott House
Meet outside Tesco in the Broadway Centre: Visit one of the most beautiful stretches of the Thames, where Ratty of Wind in the Willows enjoyed rowing. Hammersmiths arts and crafts history and the riverside home of William Morris, designer of wallpaper and crusading socialist. Not to mention the smallest bar in the world. Meet outside Hammersmith Broadway tube near Tesco's at 11am.
