£5m to pay for 48 new police officers in Hammersmith and Fulham

FORTY-FOUR new police officers will join the fight against crime in the borough after business leaders, Westfield Shopping Centre and the council raised £5m to pay for them.
The three-year initiative will see two new inspectors, four sergeants and 38 police constables recruited to tackle crime in three major town centres: Hammersmith Broadway, Fulham Broadway and at Westfield.
H&F Council will pay £1.3m a year to the Metropolitan Police with businesses in the borough coughing up £350,000 a year towards the budget.
