10 tonnes of recyclable waste in May alone!

The HammersmithLondon recycling scheme, which is free to BID member businesses collected nearly 10 tonnes of recyclable waste in May alone. The scheme is now collecting around this number on a monthly basis and has 104 businesses signed up and using the service.

No collections were missed and the scheme is currently being expanded to include branded tape that businesses can use to recycle more cardboard. Instead of breaking down boxes to fit into the BID recycling bags, members can now collect cardboard together and wrap tape around so that more can be collected without using up the allowance of bags. It is now easier to recycle more cardboard and the BID will be looking at ways to improve the service to deliver even more improvements to this popular scheme such as visits to the Materials Recovery Facility where the waste is processed for recycling.
