Free Recycling
Start recycling with the BID!

HammersmithLondon is offering you the chance to take part in our new, free recycling service. Businesses in the BID area will now be able to sign up for free bag collections through our preferred suppliers, First Mile.
First Mile have a wealth of experience with recycling and will deliver recycling bags to your business and discuss how best to maximise your recycling potential.
Recycling helps dramatically decrease the amount of waste that is put into landfill or incinerated.
Because business waste is not covered by business rates, all businesses have a duty to ensure that all waste produced by the business is disposed of. This costs money as waste has to be transported over distance and placed into landfill sites which charge by the tonne.
By signing up to the HammersmithLondon recycling service, we can send a significant proportion of that waste away to be recycled into other products, in the process removing the need for additional waste storage and cost.
HammersmithLondon is offering you a co-mingled, one bag recycling service as part of the BIDs Clean and Attractive program of initiatives.
Within the same easy-to-manage sack, you will be able to recycle mixed paper, newspapers, magazines, leaflets, envelopes, drinks cans & food tins, glass bottles & jars, tetrapaks, plastic bottles & bags and card & cardboard.
The waste is then separated into its different waste streams, transported to various local suppliers and turned into new glass bottles, paper and metal for use in the construction industry.
This scheme can save your business up to £2000 and decreases the amount of waste that is discarded- sign up now to join the scheme and start making a difference to your environment.
Our company has a number of Recycling Aims:
1. To deliver a new and beneficial service to BID levy payers that provides additionality and enhances their working environment.
2. To reduce the amount of landfill waste produced by businesses and addressing the ongoing problem facing the area as part of the Western Riverside Waste Disposal Authority that current landfill sites are at capacity level.
3. To bring additionality to businesses who already have a recycling service that may not be as comprehensive, I.E. glass recycling for pubs, office/IT equipment recycling for larger businesses.
4. To raise awareness of Recycling and other green issues within the BID area.
5. To minimise both cost and disruption to BID and business stakeholders whilst delivering a clean and efficient service.
