JTB began in 1912 as Japan Tourist Bureau, Japan's first travel agency. So in 2012 we are celebrating 100 years of JTB!
It became an independent company, JTB Inc., in 1963. In the following year - the year of the Tokyo Olympics - JTB introduced English guided tours within Japan for foreign visitors: "Sunrise Tours". This brand still offers one of the most popular and highly-regarded range of tours for overseas visitors to Japan.
