Who are we?

HammersmithLondon Business Improvement District (BID) is a not-for-profit organisation providing additional or improved services as identified and requested by local businesses, to the baseline services provided by the public bodies in our area.

HammersmithLondon is responsible for delivering a Business Improvement District (BID) to Hammersmith. This is a new type of public-private partnership in which local businesses identify and fund improvements in the Town Centre. Our organisation, previously known as Greater Hammersmith, was one of the first UK Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and has been broadly recognised as one of the best.

Business Focus

HammersmithLondon is run by businesses in Hammersmith, for Hammersmith, with the shared ambition of making Hammersmith a better place for all of us. We represent the local businesses which decide on the issues they want to address, the amount of funding to be raised and the services they want to implement.

Project Areas

At HammersmithLondon we want to preserve the diverse mix of businesses that give Hammersmith its special flavour, while also making it safer, cleaner, more attractive, vibrant and comfortable for everyone who comes here. Independent of the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham council, we have laid out our plans for an improved area designed to support the needs of businesses over and above what the borough offer by focusing on key project areas: 1) Clean and Attractive; 2) Safe and Secure and 3) Promoted and Energised.

Additionality

HammersmithLondon works in close partnership with the public bodies responsible for Hammersmith, such as LBHF, Hammersmith and Fulham Metropolitan Police Service and Transport for London. However, HammersmithLondon is not part of the council and the projects and services that we deliver are in addition to statutory council services and do not replace existing public services.
