Protect the Area

We aim to make Hammersmith as safe and secure as possible - and the perception of safety is just as important to us as crime statistics. We:

• apply a bespoke local security model and provide additional policing, a special Safetynet Radio system and CCTV cameras dedicated to the BID area
• develop various crime awareness campaigns
• initiate security focused local groups, partnerships and programmes such as Shopwatch, Pubwatch, etc.
• provide special security and antiterrorism training
• represent the security needs and issues of local business at different security forums and meetings

ORIGINAL SECURITY MODEL - bespoke HammersmithLondon Security model.

ADDITIONAL POLICING - additional police constables and PCSOs to patrol the Hammersmith area and address business crime issues.

SAFETYNET RADIO - Town Centre Safetynet Radio System with a special frequency for commercial sector businesses.

PUBWATCH - Pubwatch partnership to address local licensed premises issues.
SHOPWATCH - Employer Supported Policing programme, which aims to cut shoplifting for retailers and increase security in the area.

CCTV - additional CCTV operators to monitor the BID area.

TRAINING - anti-terrorism training and preparedness events.

CRIME AWARENESS AND SHOPLIFTING CAMPAIGNS - a mixture of initiatives in conjunction with the Police and various BID companies.

SECURITY FOCUSED EVENTS - Peace Week, Dr Bike events with immobiliser, Business Watch Forum, a number of knife arch events, etc.

REPRESENTATION - we present the security needs and issues of local business at the Hammersmith Police Ward Panel, Crime Summit and various other significant local meetings.
