BID Project Areas

We support the needs of local businesses over and above what the borough offer by focusing on three key project areas.

Safe and Secure

We aim to make Hammersmith as safe and secure as possible - and the perception of safety is just as important to us as crime statistics. We:

• apply a bespoke local security model and provide additional policing, special Safetynet Radio system and CCTV cameras dedicated to the BID area
• develop various crime awareness campaigns
• initiate security focused local groups, partnerships and programmes such as Shopwatch, Pubwatch, etc.

• represent the security needs and issues of local business at different security forums and meetings

Clean and Attractive

We try to improve the general pleasant appearance and cleanliness of central Hammersmith and ensure that the area is as attractive and as free of rubbish, graffiti and fly-posting as possible. We:

• work with statutory providers to increase the level of cleansing work done locally
• manage several contracts to undertake additional cleaning and deodorising of the area
• provide recycling in order to lower businesses’ overall waste output and costs
• brighten up the town centre with beautiful tree planters and flower baskets

Promoted and Energised

We work to promote, energise and raise the profile of the area as a visitor destination and

• provide a number of networking, information and free public entertainment events throughout the year
• arrange various health & wellbeing initiatives
• improve and develop the Christmas lighting and festive activities
• organise various promotional campaigns supporting the Town Centre and its local businesses

We also aim to work with developers, property owners and statutory services to improve and regenerate the BID area. This involves developing some capital projects such as the HammersmithLondon Roof Garden at the Lyric and the Hammersmith Flyover.
